Topical application of superoxide dismutase mediated by HIV-TAT peptide attenuates UVB-induced damages in human skin
In ten volunteers, TAT-SOD applied one hour before UVB raised mean minimal erythema dose by about 37% versus vehicle and reduced sunburn-cell counts after 2-MED exposure. The authors attribute the effect to free-radical scavenging, not physical UV blocking.
