The extract

Unlocking the Power of Coffea Arabica Seed Extract

This material is a liquid extract derived from the unroasted (green) seeds of the *Coffea arabica* plant. While often recognized by trade names such as Green Coffee or Coffee Seed, at Formulate Labs, we provide the **INCI: Coffea Arabica Seed Extract**, ensuring standardization and clarity, distinct from general trade names or supplier SKUs.

**Dual mechanism:** This extract's cosmetic activity is primarily driven by two key phytochemical classes: chlorogenic acids and methylxanthines (e.g., caffeine). Chlorogenic acids, as potent phenolic antioxidants, help protect the skin from oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species, supporting dermal matrix integrity by inhibiting collagen-degrading matrix metalloproteinases, and preventing lipid peroxidation. Methylxanthines, including caffeine, function by antagonizing adenosine receptors to promote localized lipolysis and enhance microcirculation, contributing to a more energized and toned skin appearance.

**Use levels:** Formulators typically dose Formulate Labs' 5% *Coffea Arabica* Seed Extract stock at 0.5%–5.0% for facial and eye care applications. For body and anti-cellulite formulations, higher concentrations of 8.0%–10.0% are recommended for optimal efficacy.

**Market context:** *Coffea Arabica* Seed Extract is competitively positioned in the B2B personal care market by leveraging three key narratives: Clean-Label Energy, marketed as a natural active for energizing the skin; Plant-Based Protection, positioned as a premium, plant-derived shield against environmental aggressors; and Sustainability & Sourcing, highlighting the 'green' and 'unroasted' nature for conscious clean-beauty consumers.

We ship standard or concentrated extract stock with selectable preservation - ready to meter into finished formulas at the use rates in the formulation guide below.*

Documentation

SDS + TDS are issued per selected recipe. Links swap when you change selections above. A sample COA shows the standard extract QC panel (pH, organoleptic, TAMC/TYMC). Lot-specific COAs ship with every order.

Phytochemistry note

We cook the raw botanical powder into the selected carrier. The botanical carries polar phenolics, flavonoid glycosides, and related extractable fractions. Those markers support antioxidant and skin-conditioning cosmetic stories. This is not a solvent isolate or a standardized marker extract. Lot identity appears on the COA and TDS.

Quality & claims

Quality, process, and what we will (and will not) claim.

This is a ready-to-use cosmetic extract stock, not a finished consumer product and not a standardized marker isolate. We cook the raw botanical powder into the selected hydroglycerin or oil carrier. Aqueous lots are released on pH, organoleptic, TAMC, and TYMC (total counts only). Oil macerates are released on organoleptic only. A sample COA is on this page; the lot-specific COA ships with the order.
