About the Role
As Product Manager (Gen 3 Platform), you'll own the end-to-end roadmap for our next-generation manufacturing system - spanning hardware, automation, software orchestration, and deployment workflows.
This role is responsible for defining what the Gen 3 platform is, how it evolves, and how it delivers value to customers. You will operate across robotics, controls, AI systems, manufacturing software, and customer use cases to ensure the entire platform functions as a cohesive, scalable product.
This is not a feature PM role. You are defining a platform - its capabilities, constraints, performance targets, pricing logic, deployment model, and long-term evolution. You will work closely with Engineering, AI, Manufacturing, and Business teams to translate vision into shipped systems.
This is a full-time role based in California, with in-person collaboration expected.
What You'll Do
- Define and own the roadmap for the Gen 3 hardware + software platform.
- Translate high-level company strategy into clear product milestones and release plans.
- Partner with engineering to define system capabilities, constraints, and performance targets.
- Balance hardware iteration cycles with software velocity and deployment realities.
- Define pricing logic, packaging, and feature segmentation in collaboration with Business Development.
- Prioritize platform improvements based on customer feedback, operational data, and strategic direction.
- Ensure tight integration between robotics systems, manufacturing software, and AI optimization layers.
- Establish metrics for platform performance, reliability, uptime, and economic efficiency.
- Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs, and progress clearly across teams.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of product management experience in platform, hardware-software, or systems-based environments.
- Strong technical fluency - comfortable discussing architecture, constraints, and tradeoffs with engineers.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, AI, operations).
- Ability to think in systems - you understand how changes ripple across hardware, software, and economics.
- Strong prioritization skills in high-ambiguity environments.
- High agency and bias toward action; you move quickly without waiting for perfect information.
- Excellent communication skills; able to align engineers, operators, and leadership.
- Actively leverages modern AI tools to accelerate research, documentation, and roadmap development.
- Nice-to-haves: robotics, automation systems, manufacturing platforms, leasing or hardware-enabled SaaS models.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation with equity.
- Ownership over the flagship platform shaping the future of programmable manufacturing.
- Opportunity to define a hardware-software system from early stage through scale.
- High-autonomy environment with direct strategic impact.
- A fast-moving team focused on building infrastructure for adaptive, intelligent production.
